A conformal coating machine is a robotic system that automates the application of conformal coatings that are applied to the surfaces of a printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA’s). These robot systems are designed for precision and applying highly repetitive conformal coatings where consistency and quality are crucial for ensuring long product life of PCBA’s.
Conformal coating is applied to the surface of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA’s) manually using a conformal coating hand spray gun or ideally using a specialized automated robotic system that is equipped with a combination of spray valves that applies the conformal coatings with high precision and quality using various spray patterns to achieve the desired coating.
Conformal coating protects a boards electrical components and helps prevent the PCBA from failing within its intended environment. There are many types of conformal coatings, each formulated differently for things such as dust, moisture, temperature, shock, etc.
